Bio Digital City, Tomorrow’s Seoul is a workshop to discuss the topic of how to create a self-sustaining city. Giving lecturing on urban eco-systems and leading hand-on workshops for Students’ design works including architectural urban typology development and fabrications during the workshop.
Recently urban agriculture has been recognized as a significant industry to improve the quality of citizens’ lives along with the attention to healthy foods. Frank Llyod Wright suggested “Broadacre city (1934)” was…
1.Formulating Research Question:
You need to have an idea, a topic for your research project. How will it help develop the theory and/or practice? Check with the literature that your research question has not already been addressed.
Ordinal Data: an ordinal scale in categories.
Nominal Data (nominal scale): a variable with categories without a natural order or ranking. But the order is arbitrary so mean, median or standard deviation would be meaningless. The percentage would be meaningful. (e.g. blood type, zip code, gender, race, eye color, etc.)
Continuous Data: an infinite number of possible values within
a selected range (e.g. temperature, height, weight range, etc.) - height can be 180cm or 180.00001cm or 180.0000000001cm (but, hardly notice the difference)
Discrete Data: a finite number of possible values (e.g. …

Numeric Network Analysis (NNA) offers easy approaches for measuring distances and analyzing various accessibility and centrality concepts with spatial networks. There are new features and functionalities to measure the values of spatial networks, locations, buildings, and travel cost/time.
This add-on calculates a wide range of properties of mobility analysis to accelerate their design thinking and decision-making. Architects, designers, urban designers, and planners who engage with the…

Method: Accessibility analysis for multi-modal mobility (Reach and Gravity)
Date: 2016, GSD Advanced Seminar in City Form
Reach and gravity analyses on the current tram system at both city and site scales helps to find out the most desirable stops, and post-design quality.
At the city scale, a Reach analysis unfolds how many lines can reach buildings within 600m. The outcome shows the current network connects well the old town and its periphery areas that had been developed. Most accessible spots are located in the east of the Old Town. (Here, some but not many…
